When you haul freight within a single state's borders, you are
operating as a INTRA-state Motor Carrier and required to obtain
intrastate Operating Authority. Each state has different rules and
regulations concerning Intrastate transportation. Furthermore, the
agencies that govern Intrastate transportation vary from state to state. It is possible that you may need to file for more then one state Intrastate Authority if you are picking and dropping loads inside the borders of multiple states. If you have questions or need guidance on these requirements please contact one of our agents today and we will be happy to go over the states with you.
